The Victoria-Jungfrau

The History

The foundations of the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU COLLECTION were laid in the spring of 1997 with the amalgamation of the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU Grand Hotel & Spa and the PALACE LUZERN after many years of close and productive cooperation. At that time, the Board of Directors of the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU COLLECTION resolved to pursue controlled growth of the company within the luxury sector. While the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU Grand Hotel & Spa is still owned by the hotel group, the PALACE LUZERN property was transferred to the ‘Credit Suisse Real Estate Fund Hospitality’ on June 1st 2011 (the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU COLLECTION signed a long-term lease agreement in the process). Since December 2015, the property located on the banks of Lake Lucerne has been owned by the Chinese investor Yunfeng Gao, who acquired the estate from Credit Suisse and plans a full-scale, 18-month renovation starting in November 2017.

The EDEN AU LAC has been owned by the renowned hotel group since November 2005; the five-star hotel overlooking Lake Zurich will be renovated for a period of around 15 months starting in October 2017. In May 2006, the hotel Bellevue Palace AG in Bern and the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU COLLECTION concluded the lease agreement for the BELLEVUE PALACE in Bern. A lease contract was also agreed in 2017 for the CRANS AMBASSADOR in Crans-Montana, the latest member of the hotel group. In March 2014 AEVIS Holding SA acquired a majority stake in the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU COLLECTION with the aim of effectively guiding the group into the future as a controlling shareholder. AEVIS Holding SA merged with the VICTORIA-JUNGFRAU COLLECTION to form AEVIS VICTORIA SA in June 2015.
